re: Azuk gro-Shakh [WIP]

0

Name:
Azuk gro-Shakh

Age:
38

Birthsign:
Born on the 29th of Frostfall under the Tower.

Introduction:
Azuk is a traveling bard with some reputation in taverns and ballrooms all over Tamriel - most notably in Wrothgar, Skyrim and High Rock. Under the stage name "The Windsinger," he is known for pairing the delicate tune of his lute with the thundering rhythm of the wilderness. Azuk is able to cast an array of shamanic spells and to conduct certain rituals. He has an affinity for illusion and astral projection as well as dreamwalking to some degree. However, Azuk lacks combat experience. Only in recent years, he picked up one or two things about how to wield a dagger or a quarterstaff. In general, he tends to avoid confrontation - he prefers to solve conflicts non-violently.

Appearance:
Green skin, green eyes, brown hair and beard. He tends to wear his hair in a wolf's tail. He is slightly taller than average and well built. His weathered skin bears a couple of unremarkable scars.

Personality:
Contrary to the stereotype, Azuk is well-mannered with a decent  set of social skills regardless of culture and class. Something he acquired during his travels through all the provinces of Tamriel. During his performances, he is able to liven up any tavern or to enchant the patrons of any soiree. He enjoys the company of good friends, who in turn cherish his corteous manner.

Religious Beliefs:
His faith lies with Malacath, but he respects the teachings of Dibella, as well.

Youth:
Azuk grew up as an only child in the northern wilderness of Wrothgar. He was raised and trained in the mountains of Wrothgar by his father Shakh gro-Gruznikh, a shaman from a long bloodline of shamans. Azuk never met his mother. Apart from the occasional visits to Orsinium and various clan strongholds, he spent the majority of his youth traveling with his father. When Azuk was 17  years old, his father was attacked by a rabid wolf, which left him diseased. Nearing his death, Shakh bestowed Azuk with the title of shaman and urged him to continue his legacy. Azuk vowed to fulfill his father's wish. After his father succumbed to the disease, Azuk conducted the necessary rites and gave him a proper burial.

As the new shaman of his bloodline, he spent several years in the wilderness to continue his father's work. His bond with nature allowed him to aid the city and clan Orcs in spiritual matters: Enraged spriggans attacking woodcutters, trolls stealing cattle or plain hauntings, for example. Over time, however, he realized that a life of solitude and isolation - as soothing as it might be for the spirit - does not suit him. He was always excited to visit his more "civilized" brothers and sisters to learn about the lands beyond Wrothgar. And whenever he departed to return to the wilderness, he was yearning for his next visit.

Adulthood:
Finally, on his 26th birthday, he made the decision to abandon his nomad life in Wrothgar and to journey across the continent. He went to Orsinium first, where he took small jobs to earn enough gold for his plans. A few months later in Morkul stronghold, he borded a ship bound for Skyrim.

Recent History:
[WIP: The Jolly Spriggan]

Notable Relationships:
- Areth Valinor, Captain of the Jolly Spriggan and his crew.
- His former companion Ardwen Mara.
- Clan Shatul in Wrothgar.
- Azuk's dog Grimm.

Unusual Talents/Oddities:
Growing up as a shaman in Wrothgar, Azuk retains a set of spiritual skills as well as a bond with nature. His magical skills involve specialized illusion magic, astral projection and limited dreamwalking. He uses some of these skills for subterfuge.

In the Bard College in Solitude, he learned to sing (expanding on shamanic chants) and to play a range of musical instruments, though he prefers the lute. As a bard, Azuk travels Tamriel to perform in various taverns and ballrooms. Even private shows for nobility were on his schedule.

Motivation:
Wanderlust, altruism and a sense of duty with regard to his legacy.
