re: Thilya Arysil

0

WIP

Name: Thilya Arysil

Age: 29

Birthsign: The Ritual

Power level: Expert

Appearance:

Thilya looks younger then she is, and being young to begin with that can be strange. A lot of that is credited to her lack of height and a very youthful body truly blessed with elven beauty and a lot of physical activity giving her a very athletic build. her long silvery hair being well kept at all times , and if something changes that, she is very fast to correct it. Her appearance and cleanliness is guarded with the same zeal, Not wishing to be caught dead feeling dirty. Those who knew her mother tends to comment she looks like a smaller version of her mother in her youth.

The young dunmers pose tends to more often then not be very military and disciplined, a straight back and an ever observing look. Standing idly she does not fold her arms in front of her, instead behind her back, or one arm in front of her, under her chest, and the other, normally the left hand ,resting on a hilt. Being so short, she is often found looking slightly upwards. If asked and made to answer what her favorite facial feature of herself was, she would say its her lips, while her least favorite ones being her nose.

Clothing:

Few has seen Thilya in only clothing, she wears her dark battledress armour nearly at all time, however when not seen in that, She wears elegant yet practical attire, often in the colours of black and red. Her head is crowned by a exquisite headband, heavily enchanted with magical properties helping her to be a better force on the fields of battle

Weapons:

Never seen without them, the young Mer carries two heavily enchanted long ebon Wakizashi, black as the night. Their sheath and hilts showing beautiful engravings in dark silver, While at first glance they could be seen as identical, such is not the case. at closer study one is longer then the other, and the longer one is always wielded in her left hand. The blade themselves  carries the same style of beautiful engravings as thier sheaths, these ones being the actual exquisite enchantment runes. Studying the swords for hints suggesting their age is very hard to find, their owned carefully maintaining them and having them well repaired and razor sharp and powered. These swords once belonged to Thilyas parents. And they are together with her armour her most valued possessions.

(OOC note: Please consider both of these weapons on her person at all time, even if the game suggests something else. Unless emoted otherwise, or it not making sense at all... she does not bath with them :) )

Armour:

Carrying her mothers beautiful dark armour, this elegant tribute to the best of dunmer craftsmanship shows the finest gold could buy, Fit only for the highest of fashion aware nobility... nearly hundred years ago. Strongly enchanted to to aid in her capacities as well as greatly improving its magical and physical defensive capacities, the armour manages to be comfortable, light and agile, favoring the fast and exotic fighting style used by its former, and current owner. This beautiful creation is never seen with a helmet, instead her headband serves that purpose.

Begin carefully maintained throughout the years could allow it to at first inspection pass for a new, but with closer examination, signs of battles past, the ebb of time and the many tales it been trough can be seen. All that is still not including how it is possible to notice that it was crafted for a taller woman then is wearing it now, and has been refitted. An even closer inspection could reveal that it once worn the high guard emblem of the now defunct house Sarath, and later the emblem of an officer within the Dunabhahr Tong, both now hidden under the paint used to repair the many battle scars.

Summoned armour and shield:

At times, the mer is seen summoning an reinforced deadra armor on top of her exiting one, sacrificing agility for raw protection. While this set is beautiful in its own, and have saved the dunmers life many times in Cyrodil, it takes a lot of her to summon this all at once, and its often only done for shorter amounts of time. This armour often comes with a helmet, and a summoned shield, Worn on her right arm. The source of knowing such a powerful spell so early can be credited to Belit Sarath, who never bothered owning an armour due to her mastery of said spell.

Personality:

Personality traits:

Arrogant: Like most Dunmers, This one can be experienced as very arrogant.

Cynic: A trait/flaw Thilya did not develop until she lost both her wife  and her lifelong mentor Belit, along with most that she owned. She tends to keep her thoughts to herself, but someone good at reading people can pick it up on her.

Devoted: When she sets her mind to something, She normally succeeds, even if it takes blood, sweat and tears, but mostly time. Many can experience her as stubborn, and they are correct in that, Usually. But her stubbornness is rarely about that she is right, it is about succeeding.

Intelligent: While not exactly wise, She is smart for her age, having an very easy time learning things, calculating or understanding facts, this together with her devotion has made her a very talented person for her age. Wile not someone for conversations... a good intellectual talk can truly bring out the talker in her.

Introvert: Thilya is not a social being, Preferring to spend her time alone or among a few chosen. She feels very out of place in social settings and tend to remain silent.

Polite: As long as the person in question is a dunmer and have not put yourself on her cold side (Like by being an ashlander), you can expect to be spoken to politely and mannerly by this young mer. this should not be confused by respected. While most dunmers receive her politeness, few gains her true respect.

Courage: Being brave by nature, hardened trough her experience and hardship, Thilya does feel fear, She just chose to try not to show it, and fights very hard to never do so. Actively trying to go against the "coward inside". If someone tries to actively intimidate her, Her stubbornness comes trough and she makes it an active topic to passively resist the attempt of the "Corward" who is doing it to her.

Racist: Some dunmers are worse then others, Thilya was once among the worse. With recent influences she  handles it much more elegantly and has learned to live with it. While she looks down on all races other then dunmers, The only one she truly hate nowadays is Argonians.

Sadistic tendencies: Sadism goes so much further then pain of the flesh, and while whipping someone she dislikes can give her a smile, her passion in this is on the mental level, breaking someone down mental.. sometimes physical pain is a mean to this end.. but the reward is the look in their eyes when they break. Thilya's sadism does not extend to children, Nor is it sadism for the sake of sadism.

Loyal: There are very few people Thilya truly care for or respect, and perhaps it is for her own good. Loyal to a fault to those few she holds dear and has earned it (In her mind). Thilya is able of incredible feats in her service to those few, and do not hesitate to place herself in great danger for them.

Submissive:  Coming from having idolized her mother, Later being under the tutoring of a person with such a dominant aura as Belit Sarath, then to marry Velaria who's dominant tendencies where extreme. and finding herself as the apprentice of the illustrious Archmagister Vivecah Telvanni, Perhaps this trait is not such a surprise after all. Thilya is a competent small scale tactical leader but she always wants someone she respects above her.

Religious beliefs:

If asked about it, Thilya will likely say she Worships the Tribunal, With Almalexia being closest to her heart of the three for the aspects she embody as the healer, her compassion and her representation of a motherly figure. While this not in the slightest being a lie…  She in private says many of her prayers to Azura.

Her worshiping of a Deadra does not come with any major resentment of the tribunal, their existence goes hand in hand, and she would be very upset if someone were to insult the tribunals power or right to rule, she however believes that Azura deserves a lot more attention for she “Saved” the Dunmer (Chimer) From the Altmers oppression of faith and being the mother of the Dunmer race.

Childhood:

Only child to Thiniria and Indaryn Arysil, Noble dunmers serving as personal honourguards to the late Ulath and Demivah Sarath, Former leader of House Sarath . Having parents of noble status and even being personal honourguards to the heads of a dunmer house (Thou House Sarath was a minor house) had its benefits and Thilya had a very lovely and wealthy early childhood, living in an impressive wonderful home in Blacklight, Full of staff, teachers and a personal nanny. Much due to her parents often working both at the same time, and away from home in the Sarath’s many travels across the vastness of Morrowind.

She was always very interested in swords and martial combat, much from how she saw her beloved parents using them with great skill and admirable grace, she began at an early age  training with them. Despise her love for swordplay, her natural affinity was magic. restorative magic more exactly, and that later developed in to a great affinity for undoing and protecting against harmful magic. She is born with with a strong ability to see the very patterns and fibers that makes up magi, and in those patterns and fiber she reads where their weakness lays and where she can attack it to break and undo it.

Thilya loved her parents deeply, and some would say she absolutely idolized her beautiful mother, wanting to be her. This lead to that despite her very strong natural affinity, she did not care as much as one could wish she did for it, instead wanting to be a honourguard like her parents, to protect and serve was her heart’s desire, and in many ways only trough explanation how her natural talents could make her better at that did it gain any of her attention, yet was always overshadowed by her favourite hobby…  beautiful swordplay.

While martial arts and magic took a lot of her interest, Thilya had more common hobbies too, Drawing and dancing being the most noticeable, along with being a fast reader with a deep thirst for delving in to well written books of adventures, magic, bravery and beautifull romances. Or books about... You guessed it, Sword techniques! (And sometimes even a magical book or two). While Horses not being the most common of ways to travel in Morrowind, due to her parent’s wealth and occupation she had access to it from an early age, and enjoyed riding on her pony (In order to chop down dummies along her path... of course)

In her late teens, Thilya’s existence was turned upside down one night, As Belith Sarath came to visit, informing her that her parents had beyond honour and duty protected the leaders of house Sarath from an unusually large and organized ambush, but they had ended up paying with their lives to do so. The young dunmer was devastated and heartbroken as could be expected and lost her spark, leaving her empty and passionless for many painful sad months, only letting her pain out on practice dummies seemed to even get her for a moment of outlet for her grief and internal terror, but that was only raw anger. Her swordplay was sloppy, much more befitting for a savage nord then an elegant dunmer.

As Thilya was just a young adolescent she could not live by herself, especially not without a will to live to begin with. Belith Sarath took it on herself to be a de-facto guardian for the time being as she had lost her parents so Belit could keep hers, and they had died serving the house her family. Under Belits guidance and mentor ship, Thilya eventually returned to be more than a body with a pulse and once more trying to actually live a happy life. Studying under a such powerful and lovely wizard as Belit Serath,Thilya was quick to learn what most dunmers have by birth right, and Belith had mastery of: Fire magic.

Young adult:

For years Thilya served as something between Beliths Protégé, Apprentice and ward, and with such privilege of studying with a powerful magician at so early ages, she became very talented (For her age) Making very large progress in dispelling and counter magic, Healing and of course her teacher’s passion, Fire. Still her passion for swordplay never died and Belit was able to bring it out in her once more, making her keep up with her training on the side of the magical teachings. Thilya grew very fond of Belit and even if she could never replace her parents, she looked up to Belit as a motherly figure at times. That role was something Belit could however not completely fill for her, and the need of such a figure in her life still flaws Thilya.

Tilya grow up to become a beautiful and talented young lady under Belits lovely care and guidance. When Belits parents died to a successful assassination attempt, Belit suddenly had barely any time for Thilya and instead had to rush in to save and uphold the house show now had inherited, a task she was not meant to take over for another hundred years. While they still keept contact, Thilya needed something else to keep her in training, and she was sent to study martial arts, tactical magical application and leadership at academic boarding school, and when she graduated, she was offered a place within Belits personal guard unit, a position she happily took with pride and honour. It was here Thilya meet her to be wife, Vel’

The end of hose Sarath and the search:

As Belit Sarath had left for Vvardenfell with her wife, Lady Therese D’Chezei and left the care of the houses operations on the mainland to her younger sister Hekatah Serath.  It had got out that Hekatah of House Sarath was a worshiper of Deadra, and thus destroyed by house Indoril who finally gotten all they needed to openly strike against the liberal  house. Thilya was once more left devastated and had nowhere to go, her employment was effectively terminated overnight (Or rather non-existent) and her newfound purpose and love in life, her loving wife Vel’ had gone missing only a month before. With no home and no purpose, Thilya Traveled back to Blackwater once to her Ancestral tomb to pray, and then spent a year in a tireless search of Vel’. Finding a person whose specialty is to disappear and remain unseen was a hard task to begin with, and as the months pass, the hopes of ever finding her fainted, darker and darker thoughts of what had happened to her beloved wife haunted her dreams at night, and thoughts at day.

After a year of constant searching with no result, Thilya was mentally broken in despair, and to find an outlet for how devastated her heart was, she signed up for an all dunmer cavalry unit; Dunabhahr Tong.  fighting for one thing she truly hates: The pact. Traveling to Cyrodil to fight with fellow extreme patriot dunmers, justified with it was for the defense of Morrowind and nothing else. The unit got a reputation among some their foes to be merciless, cunning and fearless, and among the rest of the pact army their reputation was Racist, Arrogant, Unpredictable, and as much a danger to the pact as to the enemy. With some argonians asking “With friends like this, who needs enemies?” Yet their existence was allowed... For the time being, having that despite their evident flaws and unwillingness to cooperate, unleashed on their enemies they were very talented and efficient warriors non the less. And in private, some even dunmers soldiers of the pact expressed their respect for the unit.

War is not beautiful, nor is the death and destruction it leaves in its trail, and Dunabhahr Tong lost many members every month, more then there where new dunmers wanting to join, and about a year after Thilya had joined, the unit was too small to successfully operate on its own, and with that the pact commands tolerance for their refusal to cooperate diminishing with the lack of good reports, More pressure was on the unit to accept they could not operate alone, and should just accept their place in the pact army like everyone else. And eventually the remains came for them to be part of a garrison together with Argonians and Nords. The remaining solders who had no formal obligations or contract to the pact informed command they found they had done their duty to Morrowind and intended to return home as they felt betrayed and had nothing to do here. And the Dunmers who had formal obligations to the pact either deserted or protested wildly, eventually being brought in line. Thilya was lucky to be in the first mentioned category, and she left Cyrodil.

Telvanni:

Once more finding herself alone, purposeless, and maybe worst of all... homeless. Thilya travelled aimlessly for a while, living of the quiet generous amount of gold she had “Acquired” in Cyrodil. Yet even if she once had been ready to settle down for a peacefull(er) life with Vel’. Without her went her ability to settle, or be content. She needed to belong somewhere...

-WIP-

Noteable relationships:

Archmagister Vivecah Telvanni: Shortly after joining the great house Thilya was taken as apprentice by the archmaagister for reasons not entirely known to the young mer. Under the archmagisters lovely guidance Thilya has become a much more calm and controled person once more- Helped to handle the ghosts of her past she now once more move forward. Thilyas magical powers has significantly bloomed from the teachings of the archmagister while as a person she has grown significantly with their relationship being more that that of a magical student and a learner, rather Thilya finds Vivecah very much as she once found Belith, someone to look up to and find guideance in on all aspects of life and for that she treasures her immensely. Thilya serves her Kena with a zealous loyalty will go trough extreme lengths for Vivecah without hesitation.

Merril Telvanni: One of Thilyas few "Friends" in the great house. Their relationship began with Thilya hating Merril for being a Altmer. With time Thilyas hatred faded thanks to the Genius Loci and the Archmagister and she got to know her fellow apprentice, Often sharing a cup of tea with her now days when both are around the same place.

Ahanabi Shashibael: Thilya is an only child... But her relationship with the ashlander Ahanabi could by some be compared to siblings that constantly are at each other, Trading insults and laughing at their  mistakes. Yet they  would protect the other from anything serious and often finding each other as the best company in social situations, witch both dislike. They both share a love for Azura.

Velaria Arysil: Thilya meet her lovely to be wife in Devons watch, both serving house Sarath. While their relation did not start out as smooth and lovely as one could wish, and Vel’ being more than three times Thilyas age. Her dominant and secure personality, mixed with her great empathy and experience along with a great interest in caring for Thilya and make her “whole again” Thilya fell for the older scout, and she fell hard. Using much of her inherited gold in order to buy them a very lovely home. About one month before the Idoril attack on house Sarath, Vel had gone missing, and since that has not been seen.

Her halfchildren: Unknown to Thilya, Velaria had children before she meet her, Never speaking of them as she had sent them off to orphanages or to live with their fathers. While she holds no formal responsibility to her wife's two children, she feel a responsibility for them, even if they are older then her as they have had a very poor life. When she can she tries to help them out. their relationship is complicated and often causes Thilya annoyance.

Belith Sarath: Having known each other in one way or another since Thilya’s birth, Belith was a lovely dunmer noble, the oldest child to Ulath and Demivah Sarath, Heads of House Sarath, destined to take over the house one day, there was little expenses spared to make sure she would indeed be a powerful and competent ruler, strong enough to stand against the dangerous enemies that threatened a minor house such as Sarath, Enemies such as those who Thilyas parents died to protect Ulath and Demivah from. With the loss of her parents as such young age, Belit became Thilyas menor and guardian, and many of Tilyas earliest remarkable leaps in magic use can be credited to this powerful wizard. Belits call to rule came earlier then hoped, as her parents where lost to another assassination attempt, many years after the one that left Thilya without hers. Belit Married an lovely Imperial Lady, Therese D’Chezei, perhaps not to Thilyas great approval. Yet she did not speak about it, and served them both faithfully as they guard detail. The last she saw of them was when they departed for Vvardenfell. A few months before the Indoril attack.

Unusual talents/Oddities:

Counter magic:

Developed from her strong affinity for healing and how Thilya naturally sees magic as patterns. She holds an remarkable affinity for dispelling and counter magic. With seeing it as such clear patterns, she understands how something is built up and what their weak points are and thus how to undo it. Given enough time, She could undo most enchantments, curses and other permanent magics, and she could seriously mess up and even ruin a  complicated cast for even the most gifted of mages.

Wards and absorption:

One does not always have time to counter or dispel magic, While this once was a fatal flaw, under the guidance of her Kena, She has turned this in to one of her strong talents, Able to shield herself from very strong spells and learning how to even draw from such to empower herself Thilya is now able to in one way or another stand a fair chance of defend herself from most magic she is aware of... That is not capable of completely leveling a building all together in an instant. (Against such power she has learned the best defense is to not upset a person capable of such feats to begin with. One more  some great knowledge thanks to her Kena... and a certain Serjo Cernon.)

Healing:

Most born under the ritual has some magical aspect that stands out, and healing was the first discovered with with Thilya. while she is not truly interested in it, she understands it very great use and it would be a waste to throw away such a (boring) gift.

Excellent Swordplay:

Having a life passion pays off, and her love for swordplay, with many thousands of hours spent practicing, and later putting it to use among some of the great dunmer warriors in Cyrodil as mentors. Thilya is as such by skill better then most fully adult dunmers will ever be when it comes to blades. Add to that her skillfully enchanted battle gear, enhanced speed and strength in combat and she is a true force on the fields of battle. Capable of making her swordplay looks like a quick and elegant mesmerizing dance of death. With her continuous training she hope to get even better, both at the core skills and ot use the talent for magic to go beyond her physical limits.

Truthful lies:

Knowing how to avoid the answer without telling a direct lie, this young mer is nearly impossible to pick up on when she is lying magic or great person reader. As theoretically, she generally is not. Just answering in a way that eludes the answers, or shaping the answer to answer just a part of the question. of course, this does not work if she is forced in to a situation where the answer is in black and white (Yes or no), as her answers tend to be grey zones and interpretations.

Fire magic:

Having trained under Belith Sarath, Thilya is way ahead of her age when it comes to knowledge of fire magic, the backside of this is she is truly bad at ice magic, that was left neglected.

Motivation:

Thilya is very content in serving the Archmagister, feeling great pride in such. She strives to make Vivecah proud of her actions, and seeks to continue to serve her, and to serve her to the best of her abilities.

While Thilyas reasons for remaining with house Telvanni mainly roots in her Kena, she wishes to improve herself in the areas that matters to her, and being part of the Telvanni allows her just that. Like most she wishes to climb the hierarchy. Both in power and positions.

One of Thilyas great ambitions is to become so good at what she does that harming her, or more importantly someone under her protection becomes a to costly action to take and as such not viable action.

Note of consent:

What you find here is not necessarily easy to find IC, it is however neither completely impossible. And as long as you have a perfectly good way of knowing something you find here IC, you may do so, if you in your true hearts deepest honesty finds it makes sense, then I trust you! and you have my consent to use it. However, As Thilya is a very introvert being, nothing you find here -she- will tell you during off screen time. You may of course use things that you can observe and not be told =)
