Name: Nebalinale Mrulineeka ~ Sex: Female ~ Race: Dunmer
Profession: Sorceress, Thief, "Shady Person"
Age: 85 ~ Aliases: Neb, Nebali, Nelane, Nelani
Birthday and Sign: First-Seed 31 - 2E 501, The Lady
______________________________________________________________________________

A Dunmer woman with a rather rough and weathered look but clad in clothing and leather of a decent quality dyed in dark brown and black colours. Her face would appear to be rugged and angular, that of a woman of middle-age for Dunmer standards but still possesses inherent beauty like most Mer. She looks average for a Dunmer in terms of build but on the slim side resulting in an outfit that spreads the weight evenly over her frame. She often carries a bow, but may also be seen with two blades or a staff with Daedric motives.

The Past of a Wise Woman
______________________________________________________________________________

Hailing from the northern West-Gash region on Vvardenfell (near Gnisis), Nebali was born as 'Nebalinale Mrulineeka', a daughter of two Ashlanders being part of the Nralikuu tribe. Then called Nebali, had a relatively normal youth at first. However, as she grew into her adolescence, she started receiving visions of Azura, a sign that she was to be the tribe's next 'Wise Woman'.

Following an arranged marriage with the tribe's Ashkhan son, Nebali was educated by the Wise Woman for the following two decades. This is how she learned the more intricate parts of Dunmer history along with knowledge about the 'Outlanders' beyond Morrowind's borders. Nebali felt quite intrigued by learning of the other races on Nirn but was of course firmly recommended to distrust everything foreign.

As the decades past and Nebali took over as the tribe's Wise Woman her personal life was not getting more rosy. Nebali and her husband, the son now turned Ashkhan, had a relatively cold relation. Though they did sleep together and they felt some sort of love for each other, it wasn't the happiest coupling in the history of Nirn. Instead of a helper, Nebali was seen by her husband as a rival for tribe leadership. However, she accepted this cold relation as a Wise Woman is supposed to put the tribe's well-being in front of her own well-being. Another point of concern was that Nebali and her husband were not able to produce off-spring which made her husband furious at times.

The 'stalemate' continued for some decades until Nebali's husband's patience ran out and denounced her as a traitor. She was exiled and lived in the furthest outreaches of the camp. It was not long after however, that the tribe got attacked by a bigger horde of Molag Bal's minions. One night, the entire camp was overrun and most of the clan's members were either killed or dragged off into Coldharbour. Nebali was in luck however since she was just tending to her prayers to Azura, away from the camp. When she returned, most of the camp was completely destroyed. She paid her respects to the fallen and aided the few survivors in guiding them towards befriended other tribes.

Nebali however decided not to seek out fellow Ashlanders and instead headed to Gnisis. With her tribe gone, she felt she had to find a new place in the world to live in.

Finding a New Home
______________________________________________________________________________

Following her depature from Vvardenfell in 2E572 (ten years before current time) and her arrival on mainland Morrowind, Nebali first tried to make ends meet doing simple tasks of housecleaning and pauper work for minor nobles of House Dres. Of course, Nebali kept her Ashlander heritage a secret and assumed another identity under the name of just 'Nebali'. Though she did managed to make ends meet for a while, she wasn't exactly happy. Keeping her real identity hidden once again, she enlisted to the Pact's Forces shortly after it's formation.

Nebali served with the Pact Forces for a number of years, earning the respect of Nord, Argonians but also fellow Dunmer as a fighter but also an expert herbalist and spellcaster. However, she always kept her Ashlander heritage a secret, preferring not to jeopardise the position of respect she worked hard to build up. Through a number of side-adventures, she managed to befriend a lot of people. One of them was a Redguard Swordmaster who Nebali had a short 'fling' with. Though her 'lover' had long left, she found herself pregnant and gave birth to a daughter nine months later named Lanesa. She has decided to raise the child herself with another close-friend, 'Valaria Artius', a former Imperial Legionary she befriended during her time as a guard in Nimalten. As she wanted the child to have a future clear of potential persecution by the Temple of being part 'Ashlander', she decided to take on another name for herself and finally also joined the Tribunal Temple, formally renouncing her Ashlander upbringing. 'Val' still has a big role in Lanesa's upbringing till this day, often taking care of her when Nebali needs to go out for her 'work'.

Nebali served the Mages Guild for roughly a year as a Journeyman in Windhelm. This ended when a brief Reachmen attack upon the city caused every citizen to be called to arms, including Nebali. As the Reachmen were considered 'evil', the Mages Guild and Fighter's Guild too joined in on the action. Though Nebali aided the defence quite admirably, she also saw this as an opportunity to do more research on Soul Gems. She didn't expect that her fellow compatriots would be angered at her if she filled a Black Soul Gem with the soul of a Reachwoman. She..was wrong.

Nebali was quickly placed in chains, and although she pleaded innocent (as Reachmen were considered 'evil'), she was still kept in custody. A man by the name of Nighren was 'amused' by Nebali's condition and decided to free her, in return he demanded an awful price which she is still deeply angered about to this day. Making matters worse, she had to endure a painful curse sometime later. Luckily, she was supported by her close friend Verisine who aided her during these troubling times.

In order to relieve herself of this curse, Nebali took extreme measures and offered her soul to her patron Daedra, namely Mephala. This meant that Nebali was now free of diseases, curses and other 'worldly' conditions, but it did mean that she in essence became an 'immortal servant' to the Webspinner. Nebali's disposition changed with this new-found 'blessing' as well: She was no longer a diplomatic figure but an aloof person who rather sticks to the shadows. Though she is often still accompanied by her close friend Verisine, she doesn't really accept any other strangers in her vicinity any more.

Seeking a way to support her daughter's future education and upbringing financially, Nebali sought employment with House Telvanni who are not scared by such 'connections' to the Daedric Princes. Meanwhile, her daughter is still being raised by Valaria and she only occasionally visits her in Anvil to check on her progress and bring the gold she earned in service of the house.

Nebali would look like a middle-aged woman which has a life of the outdoors behind her. She doesn't carry herself with a very dignified or 'posh' manner as some of the Dunmer ladies in Mournhold or Blacklight would. However, she does have a certain air of arrogance about her, especially now she has joined the Mages Guild and is seen as a 'educated woman'.

Though Nebali used to be rather thin in her days as a Wise Woman, her life as a soldier and the sword-and-shield training she received while in the Pact's Forces have transformed her into a decently capable fighter. She has decent arm and leg muscles but her chest area lacks a firmer punch a seasoned warrior would have. Therefore she carries a suit of cloth and leather armour, reinforced with some chainmail for excellent mobility and moderate protection.

Nebali's personality is an odd mix. On one hand she appears cold and distant as most Dunmer are to foreigners. On the other hand, she is quite eager to learn more about the world around her and generally try to be a 'better person' than the average cold and arrogant Dunmer would be to a stranger. On the other hand, when she feels she is 'smarter' than the person she is talking to, the typical Dunmer arrogance soon resurfaces.
