re: Telvanni Wizard

Telvanni Wizard

That's the classic Telvanni known from the Elder Scrolls games or interpretations of this stereotype. A wizard capable of powerful magical deeds but mostly dedicated to research and a somewhat antisocial demeanor. And he/she can afford it. Most of these grumpy fellows are nobles of the House and thus Dunmer, but there are a few who earned their membership due to sheer capability concerning the magical arts.

If you want to play such a character you should talk to other guildmembers who are active in our RP, because the setting can only bear so many of characters like this due to their insanely high powerlevel.

What am I doing all day?

Research. Insulting people, by chance without noticing it. Being around central Morrowind indicates that you have business their that keeps you from being a loner in a mushroom tower all the time. You should have an idea what your character does in Heimlyn Keep and why he bothers talking to others.

My powerlevel

High to insanely high. A Telvanni Wizard is considered a heavy weight magic use. In our play this is kind of a responsibility because your character would be able to fry people where they are standing with a thought. Just don't do that. Find another way.

Where is my place in the Great House Telvanni?

On the top. You are a Telvanni Wizards. People who serve you should be glad they have been noticed by you.

My agenda

You crave for knowledge and power. If you wouldn't, you would have never become that powerful. Of course you don't have to be a Neloth-stereotype, that wouldn't be helpful while roleplaying, but you must be somewhat excentric to achieve a powerlevel like that.

Additional information

With great power comes great responsibility... or something like that. Though our setting is focused on characters like that, players carry around a powermachine. Telvanni Wizards are capable of many things and many roleplaying characters would last two seconds in a straight fight. Because of that fact, some scenes just turn into a farce or do not work at all when a Telvanni Wizard is around. That's why the player should always be in touch with the players setting up an event and be a little more sensitive which kind of roleplaying is going on when entering a scene. A room full of lower Housemembers would instantly turn silent when a high wizard enters, which could ruin their play. Of course their are also many occasions to have a full fledged wizard talk with other characters like that, but you should have done your homework on Telvanni lore and Elder Scrolls magic.
