Took me some time and research to create this build.

First bar is the main bar, secondary bar is for all the skills that doesnt need constant casting. (Except for restraining prison, that just didnt fit because of the "only" 5 skills in a bar thingy)

It seems to be If it's crystal fragments, Velocious curse, restraining prison.. etc I can see it. Had to open link in new window on my crystal ball browser.

 

Your combat prowess seems very reliant on critical strikes, with the right passives and tagging velo curse + prison I can see it working. Just idk about crystal shards, long cast time and magicka cost unless it's a cast when it procs, maybe a faster direct damage spell to annihilate your foe rapidly.

I'd give it a go, will be fun to see of effective and useful for this Novice, and if it fails the knowledge you impart to future TelVanni mages with your abused corpse will be welcome.

1. Get the highest crit chance you can (its 51% if i remember right, 66% for crystal frag because the dark magic passive "exploitation")

2. I always keep inner light active

3. My rotation is (this is for groups of mobs, this build is the most effective build for single target DPSing for sorc, just need to switch prison with degeneration):

    A. surge

    B. curse

    C. prison (if there more than 2 mobs)

    D. crystal (it will probably proc by now)

    E. repeat B-D (lol it looks like a face), and refresh surge when needed

    F. maintain the ball of lightning effect if there is more than one ranged enemy

4. root melee attackers first and kill ranged enemies first

This is quite a standard build for sorc's however it falls short as it needs something that you can spam more easily but still does good damage, fire rune, impulse etc etc otherwise the healing is negligible
